Solution Engineering Lead

About the role

The Solution Engineering Lead will act as the senior technical authority for ANZ’s enterprise storage and data protection environments. Reporting to the Infrastructure, Security & Integration division, this role ensures storage platforms meet business, regulatory and security requirements while aligning with long‑term technology roadmaps.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the senior design authority for storage solutions, producing high‑quality design artefacts, reference architectures and patterns for block, file, object and backup storage across on‑premises, hybrid and cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain the enterprise storage and data protection roadmap, contributing to multi‑year investment planning, lifecycle management and cost optimisation.
• Identify and drive simplification, standardisation and modernisation initiatives to reduce cost, risk and technical debt.
• Lead technical evaluation, product selection and vendor engagements for storage and backup platforms, providing authority for RFPs and RFIs.
• Define and govern enterprise storage standards, reference architectures and approved technology platforms.
• Establish standardised approaches to RTO, RPO, immutability, retention and cyber‑recovery to ensure resilient data protection.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in enterprise storage design and data protection within large, regulated organisations.
• Proven ability to work with senior infrastructure, application, security, risk and architecture stakeholders.
• Strong strategic mindset with experience shaping technology roadmaps and investment plans.
• Excellent communication skills to influence and lead cross‑functional teams.
