Software Integration Engineer

About the role
Boeing Defence Australia is looking for a proactive Software Systems Engineer to join the Joint Systems Capability team at RAAF Base Williamtown. You will help enhance and sustain the Wakulda Air Battle Management System, a critical capability for Australian Defence.
Key responsibilities
- Test and validate software solutions against operational and functional requirements.
- Resolve integration and production anomalies of moderate complexity.
- Write clean, maintainable code following industry best practices.
- Document solutions through drawings, data sets, reports, specifications, and change‑management artifacts.
- Communicate engineering deliverable status to senior engineers, operations, maintenance and customer stakeholders.
- Identify, mitigate and manage technical risks in collaboration with the project team.
- Occasional travel to Brisbane for integration labs or planning sessions.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years experience in complex technical development and integration projects.
- Minimum 2 years professional software development experience.
- Strong communication, problem‑solving and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.
- Ability to work in a security‑sensitive environment on both Windows and Linux platforms.
