Software Engineering Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead our engineering function at Buildsafe’s Arundel Head Office. You will guide a high‑performing software team, shape technology strategy and ensure delivery of business‑critical platforms such as BuildCam, internal systems and emerging AI projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop the software engineering team.
• Set engineering priorities and manage delivery across multiple projects.
• Mentor engineers, provide feedback and build capability.
• Partner with business leaders to translate operational needs into technology solutions.
• Champion modern development practices and AI‑assisted engineering.
• Guide technical and architectural decisions without being the primary coder.
• Improve software delivery quality, scalability and processes.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading software development or engineering teams.
• Strong people leadership, coaching and mentoring abilities.
• Experience managing delivery across multiple platforms.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Commercially minded approach to technology within Agile environments.
