Software Engineering Internship – 2026 (Australia)

About the role

The Trade Desk is seeking a motivated software engineering intern for 2026 to join its global technology team in Australia. You will work on a real‑world project from concept to delivery, gaining hands‑on experience with large‑scale, real‑time advertising systems.

Key responsibilities

• Own and ship an end‑to‑end software project that adds measurable value to the team.
• Collaborate with engineers, other interns, and cross‑functional partners across multiple time zones.
• Receive one‑on‑one mentorship from an experienced software engineer.
• Explore and apply new technologies such as distributed systems, petabyte‑scale data processing, machine learning/AI, and UI/UX.

Required profile

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field at an Australian or New Zealand university.
• Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident, or holder of full working rights.
• Graduation date between May 2027 and March 2028.
• Comfortable working in an agile, distributed team environment.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, self‑directed learning attitude.

Required skills

• Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages (JavaScript, Python, Java, PHP, C, C++).
• Solid understanding of SQL and fundamental data structures/algorithms.
• Experience with software project development.
