Software Engineer – Sovereign Cloud

About the role

Google’s Australia Sovereign Cloud team is looking for a Software Engineer to help build, deliver and operate secure private cloud services for Australian Federal Government customers. The role can be based in Canberra or Sydney and involves working closely with product teams to continuously improve the technology.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain software components for private cloud deployments.
• Build, deliver and operate secure cloud services that meet government requirements.
• Scale, secure and maintain cloud deployments while collaborating with Google product teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 2 years of software development experience using C++, Java, Python or Go.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency Negative Vetting 1 clearance.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, experience with data structures and algorithms, and experience developing accessible technologies.
