Software Engineer – React & Node.js

About the role

Join Cuscal’s Core Services Domain to design, build, and support the critical systems that power Australia’s payments platforms. This full‑stack position lets you work on high‑volume, real‑time transactions while collaborating in a small, high‑impact team.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable applications across front‑end, middleware, and back‑end layers.
• Contribute to portal development using Liferay or similar technologies.
• Build and integrate microservices following enterprise architecture standards.
• Participate in CI/CD pipelines, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support production systems, including on‑call rotation and incident resolution.
• Conduct unit, integration, and functional testing to ensure quality delivery.

Required profile

• Solid full‑stack, end‑to‑end engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in modern front‑end frameworks such as React or Angular.
• Back‑end development experience with Node.js.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and DevOps practices.
• Understanding of databases and system integrations.
• Ability to work across development, testing, and production support.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
