Software Engineer – Python

About the role

This position is for a Software Engineer focused on Python development within a leading global professional services firm. The role is based in Canberra and requires Australian citizenship and an active NV2 security clearance.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Python applications using modern frameworks.
• Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code following best practices.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define and deliver features.
• Build and integrate APIs, services, and third‑party systems.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge across the team.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance.
• Contribute to system architecture and technical design decisions.
• Ensure software quality through testing, automation, and CI/CD practices.

Required profile

• Australian citizen with an active NV2 security clearance.
• Proven experience developing software using Python.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous learning.
