Software Engineer – Mobile / Cross-Platform Applications

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer with strong mobile and cross‑platform development expertise to join our Brisbane team. You will design, build and maintain a commercial application that runs on Android, iOS and desktop, connecting smart‑building hardware via Bluetooth Low Energy and cloud services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain shared code bases for Android, iOS and desktop platforms.
• Build user interfaces using modern declarative UI frameworks such as Compose Multiplatform.
• Implement scalable architecture, asynchronous programming patterns and offline‑first data synchronization.
• Develop and maintain BLE communication, device discovery and integration with hardware.
• Integrate the app with backend services using gRPC, REST APIs and protobuf.
• Maintain local persistence layers and ensure cross‑platform data consistency.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting and technical design discussions.
• Collaborate with software, firmware and product teams and mentor junior developers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of commercial Android development with Kotlin.
• Experience building cross‑platform mobile applications (Kotlin Multiplatform, Flutter or React Native).
• Proven experience integrating mobile apps with BLE or similar hardware.
