Software Engineer (mid-level) – AI Team

About the role

We are looking for a mid-level Software Engineer to join Nuix’s new AI engineering team in Sydney. You will help build and maintain Enrich, an AI-driven data-enrichment product that extracts and codifies information from unstructured documents, and contribute to AI capabilities in the Nuix Neo platform.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver user stories end-to-end, writing clean, well-styled code with comprehensive unit tests.
• Maintain code quality by following styling guidelines, design patterns and secure-coding practices.
• Investigate and resolve build or test failures in the CI/CD pipeline.
• Participate actively in backlog grooming, sprint planning and provide accurate estimates.
• Share knowledge through documentation, wiki updates and onboarding of new team members.
• Continuously expand understanding of the broader system, including model-backed and AI components.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in one or more of Java, Python, or React/TypeScript, with a willingness to work full-stack.
• Strong grasp of testing practices, version control and CI/CD processes.
