Software Engineer – Junior & Mid Level (Data & ETL)

About the role

You will join a large Australian company operating in Sydney CBD and Melbourne, focusing on master data analysis and troubleshooting. The role requires a keen eye for detail and experience in data‑centric software engineering.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, profile and present master data sets for business and management teams.
• Develop ETL processes and perform data migration tasks using Informatica and related tools.
• Interpret functional and reporting aspects of data, highlighting gaps and issues.
• Identify patterns and trends within data sets.
• Collaborate with business, solution and technical teams to define data needs.
• Document data mapping rules for migrations.

Required profile

• 1+ years of data analysis & development experience for junior level or 3+ years for mid level.
• Strong consulting ability with SSIS, SSRS, and expertise in data profiling, deduplication and cleansing.
• Problem‑solving mindset with the ability to evaluate information and make priority decisions.
• Client‑facing experience and effective communication with stakeholders.
• Relevant IT degree; certifications in relevant technologies are a plus.
• Experience in health cover or insurance domain is desirable but not mandatory.

What we offer

• Junior salary range: AUD 50,000 – 80,000 per year.
• Mid‑level salary range: AUD 80,000 – 120,000 per year.
