Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join SportsGrid’s product team, building the next‑generation digital platform that powers sport organisations across Australia and the Asia‑Pacific. You will work on a variety of internal and external software projects, contributing to a full‑stack architecture that supports memberships, competitions, analytics and more.

Key responsibilities

• Research, design and develop new features and enhancements for our web, database and API services.
• Collaborate with product and customer teams to solve technical challenges and deliver robust solutions.
• Fix bugs, implement new functionality and propose architectural improvements.
• Write and maintain technical documentation and participate in peer code reviews.
• Upgrade legacy components to align with current best‑practice standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Several years of professional software development experience with a desire to grow technical and leadership skills.
• Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional stakeholders.

Required skills

• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
• Experience with relational databases (SQL) and writing queries.
• Familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
• Understanding of web application architecture and full‑stack development concepts.
