Software Engineer

About the role

Emfi is a fintech company that builds the financial plumbing for platforms handling working capital, structured finance, complex banking and PSP services. We are expanding our engineering team in Melbourne CBD and are looking for a Software Engineer to join three other engineers, reporting to the CTO.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services using Kotlin and Spring Boot.
• Implement user‑facing features and UI components with React.
• Create and optimise PostgreSQL database schemas and queries.
• Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform.
• Collaborate with product, design and operations teams to deliver high‑quality fintech solutions.

Required profile

• Passion for building reliable, scalable software in a fast‑growing environment.
• Ability to work effectively in a small, collaborative team.
• Interest in financial technology; fintech or core‑banking experience is a plus but not required.
