Software Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to strengthen our Customer Engagement product line within Jemena’s Gas and Electricity networks. You will ensure platform stability, reliability and security while collaborating with business stakeholders and the Customer Solutions team to deliver intuitive, high-quality digital experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain applications that support both new solutions and existing systems.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support on a rotation basis for critical applications.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to prioritize work, manage changes and deliver releases using Agile, Waterfall or hybrid approaches.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot incidents and ensure applications meet agreed service standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle times and enhance operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Thoughtful approach to software design and a commitment to delivering reliable, secure solutions.
• Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships with stakeholders.
• Willingness to participate in after-hours support rotations.
• Proactive attitude towards identifying and implementing process improvements.

Required skills

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.
• Familiarity with Waterfall and hybrid delivery frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software development best practices and application support.
