Software Engineer

About the role

Betashares is seeking a proactive Software Engineer to support and scale the systems and workflows that underpin its operational teams. You will work within the Digital Transformation team, collaborating closely with finance, marketing, legal and other business units to deliver robust, automated solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse, optimise and design the performance of existing automated processes, applying knowledge of financial or investment operations.
• Identify automation opportunities and implement low‑friction, maintainable solutions to reduce manual effort.
• Design, build and test new tools and solutions to support future product offerings.
• Create structured, reliable data‑sets ready for reporting.
• Onboard and integrate APIs from various business platforms and external services.
• Build internal controls, dashboards, reporting systems and workflows tailored to each department’s key metrics.
• Document all tools/solutions with appropriate technical traceability and lineage.
• Support business operations teams in root‑cause analysis of engineering issues.
• Collaborate with the wider Betashares engineering team to ensure quality, security and performance standards are met.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Experience working in financial services or supporting operational business units such as finance, marketing or legal is beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a collaborative mindset.
