Software Engineer – Electronic Warfare Systems

About the role

KBR is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to join its Defence team in Australia. You will work on modernising and enhancing Electronic Warfare (EW) systems that protect national interests, contributing to high‑impact solutions for frontline operations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and maintain software for scientific and engineering applications.
• Define system and software requirements and translate customer needs into technical solutions.
• Work within Agile environments using Jira, Confluence and Git/Bitbucket.
• Contribute across full‑stack development, including GUI, backend services, databases, APIs and containerisation.
• Identify technical challenges and deliver effective solutions in evolving and ambiguous environments.
• Collaborate with engineering, subject‑matter experts and project teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure compliance with Defence standards, policies and quality frameworks.
