Software Engineer – Defence Team

About the role

KBR is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join its growing Defence team, delivering complex software solutions for scientific and engineering applications supporting mission‑critical capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development and implementation of software solutions for scientific and engineering applications.
• Analyse customer requirements and translate them into software designs and technical solutions.
• Develop, test, debug and maintain software products in line with engineering and quality standards.
• Create prototypes, participate in verification and validation, and resolve software discrepancies.
• Produce and maintain documentation, design artefacts and configuration records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics or related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex software engineering solutions.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organisational and communication skills.
• Experience in Defence, aerospace or highly regulated engineering environments is desirable.

Required skills

• C# programming language.
• Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF).
• Object‑Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts.
• Unit testing methodologies and frameworks.
