Software Engineer – Core Trading Platform

About the role

Jump Trading Group is seeking a Software Engineer to join a core technology team that builds and enhances the platforms powering its quantitative trading operations. You will work closely with quantitative researchers to develop research infrastructure and with fellow technologists to scale production systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain core trading and research platforms.
• Create new infrastructure to support quantitative research workflows.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of production systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to increase overall productivity as the business expands into new markets.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional experience using Python in large distributed environments.
• Strong experience on Linux platforms.
• Proven ability to work with large data sets.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Intellectual curiosity and self‑direction, taking ownership of projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• Reliable and predictable availability.
