Software Engineer – C#/.Net (SQL Server & ERP)

About the role

Kogan.com is looking for a Software Engineer with strong C#/.Net and SQL Server expertise to support its high‑traffic eCommerce platform and ERP environment. You will work in a fast‑paced, AI‑enabled team, delivering reliable backend services that impact millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Own and optimise SQL Server performance across a production ERP environment, including complex queries, stored procedures, views, indexes and data‑integrity checks.
• Design, troubleshoot and enhance backend components in C# to support integrations, fixes and new features.
• Investigate and resolve production issues across databases, applications and distributed datasets, focusing on root‑cause analysis and permanent fixes.
• Support and maintain ERP integrations and REST‑based APIs, including service layers.
• Monitor system health on Windows Server and SQL Server, proactively addressing performance, stability and security concerns.
• Manage operational tasks such as backups, restores, upgrades, patching and capacity planning for large datasets.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Finance and Operations teams to prioritise issues and ensure reliable system operation.
• Provide second‑ and third‑line support and produce clear documentation for incidents and repeatable processes.
• Assist with finance‑critical data accuracy, including reconciliations, postings, journals and inventory updates.
• Contribute to automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives for support tooling and monitoring.

Required profile

• Strong experience with SQL Server performance tuning and database administration.
• Proficiency in C#/.Net development for backend services.
• Ability to perform deep root‑cause analysis of production incidents.
• Experience working with ERP systems and RESTful APIs.
• Comfort working in a collaborative, cross‑functional environment.
