About the role
Google Photos is seeking a Backend Software Engineer to design and build scalable video editing and photo storage features. You will work on a global team, collaborating across product, infrastructure, and machine‑intelligence groups.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement industry‑leading video editing capabilities for Google Photos.
- Continuously improve software components and architecture for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Identify, triage, debug, and resolve issues in existing codebases.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define and evolve system architecture.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of backend development experience and familiarity with client platforms such as Android or iOS.
- Experience with large language model (LLM) development on backend systems is preferred.
- Commitment to building accessible technologies.
