Software Engineer – Avaloq Platform (12‑month Fixed‑Term)

About the role

LGT is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Platform function on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is central to shaping the technology landscape that underpins client experience, operational excellence and long‑term strategic growth within the private banking and asset management business.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build best‑practice solutions and processes based on complex business requirements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
• Customize the Avaloq Core Platform, focusing on AvaloqScript (ACP parameterisation) to meet unique business and client needs.
• Share responsibility for the Avaloq codebase, refining and enforcing development best practices.
• Support solution design and review of new features, guaranteeing they meet system and business requirements.
• Champion unit testing and develop automated testing capabilities for all deliverables.
• Provide operational guidance to application support specialists, including incident triage, release/change management and system monitoring.
• Identify and communicate risks associated with platform changes to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Participate actively in agile ceremonies such as daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, prioritisation and demos.
• Translate technical concepts into relatable demos for business stakeholders.
• Enforce technical audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
• Support QA in defining, implementing and maintaining an automated testing suite for the Avaloq Core Platform.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Avaloq development across multiple domains, including support of the Avaloq environment and codebase.
• Proven experience in the financial services industry with a strong understanding of banking and asset‑management processes.
