Software Engineer (AI‑enabled Spend Management)

About the role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to help shape ProSpend’s AI‑powered spend‑management platform. You will own features from concept through production, collaborating closely with product and engineering teams to solve real customer problems.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end feature development, from specification to production deployment.
• Work “agent‑first” using generative AI coding agents to translate Jira tickets and ambiguous requirements into clear, testable specs and review the generated code.
• Orchestrate multiple AI agent tasks in parallel, designing feedback loops, tests, evaluations and guardrails.
• Drive test automation and test‑driven development using Playwright, JUnit and Jest, integrating tests into CI pipelines.
• Maintain a high verification bar by reviewing architecture, correctness and maintainability of AI‑generated code.
• Set coding conventions, write specifications and mentor teammates to improve overall productivity.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional Java development with Spring.
• 3+ years of experience with a modern JavaScript framework (Vue or React).
• At least 1 year of experience in testing, launching or maintaining software products and in software design/architecture.
• Hands‑on experience with generative AI agents (Claude Code, Gemini, Codex) in production environments.
• Strong ability to read, review and assess code architecture quickly.
• Proven discipline in test‑automation and TDD.
• Comfort working with ambiguous problems and taking ownership from idea to delivery.
