Software Engineer – AI Platform

About the role

Join a cross‑functional squad at REA Group to design, build and operate AI‑driven platform capabilities that accelerate product teams across the business. This permanent position in Melbourne focuses on delivering secure, scalable services that have real impact on the property market.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and document high‑quality software following REA engineering standards.
• Build and evolve platform services, APIs, workflows and tools that enable internal product teams.
• Maintain and enhance existing systems, including bug fixes and feature development.
• Provide production support, incident response and participate in on‑call rotations.
• Collaborate with product, design and engineering peers to shape technical direction.
• Contribute to delivery planning, technical design and continuous improvement of processes.
• Stay informed about emerging AI and agentic engineering patterns to guide platform evolution.
