Software Developer – LDaCA Indigenous Language Project

About the role
The LDaCA Project seeks a Software Developer to lead the creation of sustainable systems for managing and sharing Indigenous language data across a national research infrastructure. You will work closely with researchers, community partners, and technical teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software applications that support Indigenous language data collection, storage, and dissemination.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to define technical requirements and ensure alignment with cultural protocols.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Travel occasionally to Alice Springs and Batchelor campuses for stakeholder meetings and on‑site coordination.
Required profile
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
- Demonstrated experience leading software development projects.
- Strong problem‑solving abilities and capacity to work independently or within a team.
- Commitment to ethical handling of Indigenous data and cultural sensitivity.

- Competitive remuneration package ranging from $141,028 to $151,536 AUD per annum.
