Software Developer – Computer Vision & Machine Learning

About the role

IAG Defence & National Security (DNS) is seeking a skilled Software Developer to join a small, cohesive team delivering computer vision (CV) and machine learning (ML) solutions for national security programmes. You will work closely with data scientists, intelligence experts and technical staff to design, develop and integrate advanced software components.

Key responsibilities

• Develop software using a variety of languages and development environments, primarily Python.
• Contribute to high‑quality analysis and user‑experience outcomes.
• Follow and improve software engineering processes.
• Build and refine CV models in collaboration with data scientists, including participation in data‑collection activities.
• Gather domain knowledge from subject‑matter experts and incorporate feedback into solutions.
• Document processes in line with organisational policies.
• Communicate solution details to team members, partners and wider stakeholders.
• Maintain productive relationships within a multidisciplinary team.

Required profile

• Current Top Secret Positive Vetting (TSPV) security clearance or a TSPV held within the past 12 months.
• Proven experience in software development, especially with Python.
• Strong interpersonal skills for communicating results to varied audiences.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with experts from multiple disciplines and solve real‑world problems.
