Software Developer – 12‑Month Fixed‑Term (Data Engineering)

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a data‑focused Software Developer for a 12‑month fixed‑term contract in South Melbourne. You will work across backend systems, data engineering and integrations, delivering scalable solutions that support sustainable infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain integrations using Python and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
• Write optimized SQL queries, stored procedures and views for ETL processes.
• Build and maintain REST/SOAP API connections to third‑party services and internal MSSQL databases.
• Design, support and monitor data pipelines ensuring data quality and integrity.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in an Agile environment using Jira, Confluence and Git.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in Python backend, data engineering or integration roles.
• Strong MSSQL expertise with performance tuning and query optimisation.
• Hands‑on experience creating and supporting SSIS packages in Visual Studio.
• Proven ability to integrate RESTful APIs and work with RDBMS concepts.
• Effective communicator who can work independently and within Agile teams.
