About the role
HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for a friendly social volunteer to spend one hour each week visiting a lady who enjoys knitting and crocheting. She speaks both English and Macedonian and would like someone to share stories, conversation and companionship, whether about crafts, life experiences or everyday things.
Key responsibilities
- Visit the lady once a week for 30 minutes to 1 hour
- Chat and share stories, conversation and companionship
- Help the person feel less isolated and improve their quality of life
Required profile
- 18 years or older
- National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
- Availability Monday to Sunday, between 9am and 4pm, with flexible times
