About the role

HammondCare, an independent Christian charity providing the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme funded by the Australian Government, is looking for volunteers to visit elderly clients in their own homes on the Central Coast. As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will be matched with one person and visit them regularly, sharing whatever interests you most.

Key responsibilities

Visit the same client each time, building a warm, trusting relationship over time
Meet weekly or fortnightly, usually for about an hour, for companionship and conversation
Share your interests such as sport, art, pets, gardening, walking, yoga, baking, crafts, movies, music, coffee or crosswords

Required profile

Aged 18 or older
National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare
Commitment of one hour per week or fortnight for a minimum of 6 months; a suitable day and time can be agreed
