Social Media & Marketing Assistant – Part‑time

About the role

This part‑time freelance position is perfect for a creative, reliable social media professional who loves handmade products and wants to help a growing Sydney‑based brand increase its online visibility. You will work closely with the brand team to boost engagement on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok and turn social interest into website sales.

Key responsibilities

• Create and schedule engaging posts, reels, stories, and graphics for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
• Assist in planning, launching and monitoring Meta/Facebook ad campaigns to drive reach and conversions.
• Support product launches and promotions through targeted social‑media strategies.
• Draft and send email newsletters that highlight new products and special offers.
• Track analytics, report on growth, engagement and sales conversions, and provide actionable insights.
• Collaborate on ideas to increase website traffic and online sales while maintaining brand aesthetic.

Required profile

• Proven experience in social media marketing, preferably for eCommerce or handmade‑product brands.
• Strong content‑creation abilities, including short‑form video (reels), graphics and copywriting.
• Up‑to‑date knowledge of current social‑media trends and platform best practices.
• Familiarity with Meta/Facebook Ads Manager and basic campaign setup.
• Experience with Shopify or similar eCommerce platforms is a plus.
• Understanding of the Australian market and consumer trends.
• Reliable, self‑motivated and able to work independently for 3–4 hours per week.
