Simulator Technician

About the role

Thales is looking for a Simulator Technician to work as part of a team of technicians under the direction of a Senior Simulator Technician. The role covers operating and maintaining supported equipment, keeping it in line with manufacturer guidelines and meeting contracted availability requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and maintain the supported equipment as directed by the Senior Simulator Technicians or Maintenance Manager
• Maintain equipment according to manufacturers' guidelines and carry out corrective maintenance as required
• Maintain tools and test equipment and ensure they are calibrated
• Maintain records and documentation, and complete work in line with relevant standards and processes
• Act as a Self Certifying Maintainer (SCM) when authorised
• Use spares and carry out repairs so equipment meets contracted availability requirements
• Maintain good working relationships with customers and stakeholders, identify issues proactively and keep the Maintenance Manager informed
• Assist the Senior Simulator Technicians as required

Required profile

• Ideally 1-3 years of experience as a Simulator Technician or in related fields
• Experience in a technical workshop or maintenance environment
• Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships and sound interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated self-starter; experience with simulation projects, preferably in a Defence context
• An active NV1 defence security clearance
