Simulator Technician II

About the role

CAE is seeking a Simulator Technician II to support the maintenance of Synthetic Training Devices at the CAE-Perth training centre. The technician maintains the simulator and ensures its availability and performance, and shift work is required. Candidates must reside in Australia and hold full working rights.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on simulators and their systems, and assist in diagnosing and correcting problems
• Use the maintenance management system to record and track maintenance activities
• Perform pre-flight and post-flight checks, visual alignments and run and evaluate Qualification Test Guide (QTG) results
• Assist with refurbishment and hardware modifications, and provide customer service support
• Handle logistics duties such as receiving, repairing and testing parts, and perform housekeeping and administrative tasks
• Train technicians in basic skills, complete designated training and pursue continued professional development
• Learn and comply with the CAE quality management system and support the technical services group

Required profile

• 2-year technical degree or equivalent related training
• Minimum of 3 years of direct simulator experience, with at least 1 year per assigned location
• Ability to troubleshoot to system level on multiple types of simulators
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance, pre-flight and post-flight checks on any simulator in the fleet
• Ability to perform in-depth visual adjustments and set-ups on at least one type of visual system
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and suite
