Shift Operator - 2,4 D Manufacturing

About the role

Nufarm, a global crop protection and seeds technology company, is looking for Synthesis Operators (Shift Operators) to join its 2,4 D Manufacturing team in Laverton North. The role sits in a fast-paced agricultural chemical plant producing key products, with opportunities to grow your career with an Australian global company.

Key responsibilities

• Operate the plant efficiently to schedule and cycle times, following supervisor instructions on plant organisation, process control, quality non-conformances and improvements
• Troubleshoot issues and respond quickly, and drive improvements in operating processes and systems
• Report plant and equipment faults to the Maintenance team via the CMMS work request system
• Drive systems such as 5S and general plant cleanliness and coordination
• Manage safe shutdown and start-up of equipment in the Plascon, Herbicide, Brine, Chlorination, Distillation and other plants associated with the process
• Follow operating procedures and process instructions to ensure safety and consistency
• Use permit-to-work, JSEA and LOTO systems, follow safety regulations and wear PPE at all times
• Report safety incidents or hazards immediately and propose improvements to productivity, safety and quality
• Understand Management of Change systems

Required profile

• Ideal: previous experience operating in a manufacturing environment with a working knowledge of process control
• Able to monitor process capability, use structured problem-solving tools and apply quality standards
• Ideal: exposure to lean manufacturing principles and comfort reading engineering drawings and technical documentation
• Forklift licence is essential
• Excellent communication skills and a safety-oriented, process-driven approach to operating machinery
