Service Technician – Trucks

About the role

The Service Technician – Trucks position is a permanent full‑time role based in Townsville, supporting customers with high‑quality servicing and repairs of heavy commercial vehicles and trailers.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain excellent customer relationships by delivering high‑level service and repair work.
• Perform diagnostics, repairs and servicing on brands such as Hino, Iveco and Scania.
• Handle warranty diagnostics, safety recalls and ensure minimal downtime.
• Complete required documentation and accurate timecards for cost allocation.
• Participate in the 24/7 on‑call roster for breakdown repairs.

Required profile

• Trade‑qualified Service Technician (Heavy Commercial Vehicle or Engineering – Fixed and Mobile Plant Mechanic).
• Minimum two years of mechanical experience with trucks and trailers.
• Australian work rights and a valid driver’s licence (HR licence desirable).

Required skills

• Strong electrical knowledge, including CAN BUS technology.
• Fault‑finding using multimeter, oscilloscope and OEM diagnostic tools.
