Service / Maintenance Electrician

About the role

RIC Electrics, a locally owned and operated Wagga Wagga business founded in 1979, provides turn-key electrical, switchboard, PLC, fire, communication and security services to regional NSW, focusing on the commercial and industrial sectors. The Service Electrician works within the Service Division, which services, maintains and repairs electrical equipment, plant and assets for clients. The role involves attending different sites, fault-finding, repairing, testing, commissioning and reporting work, including small-to-medium installations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of safety and ensure WHS compliance according to RIC policies and SWMS
• Fault-find and diagnose electrical issues, report them and recommend solutions
• Undertake remediation works and small-to-medium installation work
• Test and commission equipment
• Carry out regular service and maintenance of client assets
• Complete tasks with little or no supervision, sometimes as part of a team
• Communicate with RIC staff and contractors and build good relationships with workers and customers
• Join the on-call roster roughly every 6 weeks

Required profile

• Electrical licence
• Driver's licence
• WHS General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
• Enthusiastic, can-do attitude; punctual and reliable

Required skills

• Previous fault-finding experience (preferred)
• Electrical drawing interpretation and understanding (preferred)
• High-risk work licences, working at heights, elevated work platform and scissor lift (preferred)
