Service Cart Operator / Serviceman - Mining

About the role

Randstad is recruiting a Service Cart Operator / Serviceman for a mining site in the Northern Territory. The role keeps the site moving by refuelling and servicing heavy earthmoving machinery across active civil and mining projects. The service vehicle has air-suspension seats and is used to access active machinery across the mine site.

Key responsibilities

• Refuel and top up oils in excavators, dozers, articulated haul trucks and generators up to 60 times per shift
• Check fluids, inspect equipment for minor defects and report maintenance issues to site supervisors
• Work with plant operators to keep equipment running efficiently during the shift
• Decant oils and fuels into vessels (up to 12 kg) and carry fuel nozzles (up to 8 kg) to fill points from knee to overhead height
• Pull recoil hoses over uneven ground and low light, and clamp them securely to machinery access points
• Do daily vehicle pre-start checks, complete shift paperwork and keep the service vehicle clean
• Scan continuously in active mining areas to stay safe near operating heavy machinery

Required profile

• Current Heavy Rigid (HR) driver's licence (mandatory)
• Dangerous Goods licence or verified bulk fuel handling experience highly advantageous
• Background in mining, civil earthworks or heavy industry operating service trucks or mobile equipment
• Ability to climb cab ladders, pull hoses and lift containers up to 15 kg
• High concentration and commitment to zero-harm safety standards
• Able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical, including drug and alcohol screen, lead and silica surveillance, audiogram and functional capacity evaluation
