Senior Transport Allocator - Truck & Dog / Hook Bin

About the role

An established transport and logistics business serving civil construction, quarrying, bulk haulage and recycling is looking for an experienced Senior Transport Allocator to join its growing operations team. Based at the Hurstville head office, the role takes ownership of daily transport allocations, ensuring efficient fleet utilisation, compliant scheduling and good customer service. It covers Truck & Dog and Hook Bin transport services.

Key responsibilities

• Allocate Truck & Dog fleets across quarry, civil construction and bulk haulage operations
• Coordinate Hook Bin and Skip Bin deliveries, collections and exchanges
• Manage driver schedules, fleet movements and customer bookings
• Maximise fleet productivity and utilisation
• Prepare daily and forward transport allocations
• Respond to operational changes and urgent customer requirements
• Manage driver fatigue requirements and compliant scheduling
• Maintain compliance with NHVR, HVNL and Chain of Responsibility obligations
• Build relationships with drivers, customers and internal stakeholders

Required profile

• Proven experience in heavy vehicle transport allocation
• Strong Truck & Dog fleet allocation experience
• Experience in quarry, civil construction, bulk haulage or waste/recycling operations
• Sound understanding of NHVR, HVNL and Chain of Responsibility requirements
• Experience managing driver fatigue and legal operating hours
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions under pressure
• Hook Bin or Skip Bin allocation experience highly regarded

Work schedule

• Monday to Friday, 5:00am to 5:00pm; 5:00am to 9:00am may be worked remotely
• Saturday, 5:00am to 1:30pm, possibly remotely, with availability until 6:30pm if required
