Senior Technical Officer - Electrical and Instrumentation

About the role

APA is looking for an electrician who wants to start a career in the gas industry. You will report to the Team Leader Electrical and receive training and experience to become a qualified Electrical and Instrumentation technician. The role is based in Young with routine travel around the region, and involves maintaining and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems and minor projects, while ensuring safety, reliability and compliance with industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Work as part of a small team, based in Young with routine regional travel.
• Complete support tasks with other teams, including vegetation management and project support.
• Maintain gas transmission assets including gas turbines, compressors and reciprocating engines.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical issues and comply with industry regulations and standards.

Required profile

• Valid NSW Electrical Licence.
• Willingness to undertake Hazardous Area Electrical equipment, Instrumentation and Cathodic Protection training.
• Eligibility to work in Australia; candidates are subject to background vetting (including police checks).
