Senior Structural Engineer - Oil & Gas

About the role

ICON Engineering is hiring a Senior Structural Engineer in Perth for a permanent, full-time position. You will work on a diverse range of projects for major national and international oil and gas clients, including brownfield and greenfield projects in offshore and onshore infrastructure, floating and fixed platform design and modifications, specialised equipment design and field developments. You will work autonomously, overseeing a small team on larger projects or acting as the sole engineer on smaller ones.

Key responsibilities

• Solve complex problems with innovative design solutions, including overseeing the fabrication, construction and installation of your designs.
• Work on projects ranging from conceptual design through to installation.
• Take ownership of projects and help drive the commercial aspects of project management and client relationships.

Required profile

• Degree in a relevant discipline.
• Structural engineering project experience from conceptual design through to installation.
• Experience in detailed structural design on brownfield oil and gas projects, including calculations and reports, is ideal; other related industry experience is considered.
• Proven offshore site and practical experience across oil and gas facilities is ideal.
• Flexibility to travel offshore for short durations is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Well versed in current offshore codes and specifications such as DNV, API, ISO and AISC is preferred.
• Proficiency with SPACE GASS or equivalent structural engineering software.
• Working knowledge of SACS, Strand 7 or equivalent software is desirable.
