Senior Steam Technician - Boiler and Gas Specialist

About the role

A recruitment consultant is seeking experienced Senior Steam Technicians, Boiler Technicians and Gas Technicians for a stable industrial maintenance team in the Adelaide region. The role covers service, maintenance, breakdowns, installations and project work, with exposure to steam boilers, Type B gas, combustion systems and industrial plant. It suits someone wanting to move into more specialised commercial and industrial work, or a capable technician who can be trained further.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on industrial steam boilers and gas-fired equipment
• Install and commission certified gas appliances and burner units
• Identify and resolve electrical and mechanical issues in combustion systems in line with safety standards
• Work with mechanical teams on major boiler plant refurbishments and upgrades
• Provide after-hours emergency breakdown support when required
• Maintain service documentation, compliance certificates and reports

Required profile

• Type B Gas Certification and Advanced Boiler Training (mandatory)
• Current Australian electrical licence (A Grade or equivalent) and relevant trade qualifications
• Demonstrable experience managing industrial steam and boiler systems
• Valid driver's licence and dependable transport
• Permanent residency or appropriate work rights; sponsorship not available
