Senior Staff Engineer – Computer Vision (C++)

About the role

This role is for a Computer Vision C++ Engineer to support the development of real‑time perception capabilities for Shield AI’s autonomous systems. The engineer will design, develop, and integrate advanced computer‑vision algorithms into high‑performance C++ pipelines, focusing on custom perception, reliability and edge‑compute deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and integrate advanced computer‑vision algorithms into high‑performance C++ software pipelines.
• Build custom real‑time perception capabilities, including visual SLAM, odometry, target tracking and 3D reconstruction.
• Increase the team’s capacity and technical depth in real‑time computer vision, image processing, and applied machine learning.
• Develop tracking and spatial perception pipelines for autonomous navigation, such as visual localization and map building.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical field.
• Deep proficiency in C++ with proven experience in high‑performance, real‑time environments.
• Demonstrated ability to design and implement custom computer‑vision algorithms from scratch.
• Strong software‑engineering fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, performance optimisation and version control.
• Proven track record of owning work from ambiguous requirements through design, implementation and delivery.
