Senior Software Engineer – Hextech Gameplay

About the role

The Hextech Gameplay team at Riot builds custom engine technologies and tools that power League of Legends. As a Senior Software Engineer you will design, implement, and maintain high‑quality tooling and engine systems that enable designers and engineers to create gameplay experiences at scale.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain reliable software systems with a focus on quality and maintainability.
• Collaborate with designers, product managers, producers, and other engineers to translate workflow requirements into technical solutions.
• Write unit and integration tests, conduct code reviews, and continuously improve team engineering practices.
• Debug and resolve issues in live environments and development pipelines, participating in on‑call rotation.
• Document technical details clearly and communicate across disciplines.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 4+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years with C++.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and concurrency.
• Proven ability to work in cross‑functional teams and deliver high‑impact features.

Required skills
