Senior Software Engineer (Flux)

About the role

Netwealth’s Flux team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead major technical initiatives and raise engineering standards. You will work on a hybrid mobile app and backend services that help young Australians build financial confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design and delivery of core features across React, TypeScript and Ionic.
• Build and maintain TypeScript services, APIs and Firestore data models.
• Design integrations with partner systems, including authentication, identity linking and data sync with Netwealth.
• Instrument features in Mixpanel, create lifecycle journeys and push notifications in Iterable.
• Ensure high standards for automated testing, CI/CD, monitoring and security.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews, pairing and AI‑assisted development.

Required profile

• Strong professional software engineering experience, including senior or lead roles in high‑growth environments.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript across front‑end and back‑end, with solid React experience.
• Proven ability to design and ship APIs and third‑party integrations.
• Experience with NoSQL data modelling, preferably Firebase Firestore.
• Good judgement on testing, CI/CD and balancing speed versus reliability.
