Senior Software Engineer – Autonomous Maritime Systems

About the role

Anduril’s Maritime Division is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design, delivery, and evolution of autonomous underwater and surface platforms. You will own end‑to‑end software solutions that power mission‑critical capabilities for defense customers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive delivery of autonomy, simulation, data processing, payload integration, and command‑and‑control software across multiple product lines.
• Design scalable, reusable software services and create test and simulation fixtures for hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
• Support vehicle manufacturing, deployment, and on‑site integration with end‑users, traveling up to 20% of the time.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate within a multi‑disciplinary team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Mechatronics, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience developing complex software systems, including algorithms, concurrency, scaling, and full‑lifecycle testing.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Government Security Clearance.
• Proven capacity to act as technical owner for software services, managing requirements, roadmap, design, implementation, and sustainment.
