Senior Research Assistant - Mental Health Research

About the role

The School of Psychology at the University of Queensland's St Lucia campus is looking for a Senior Research Assistant to help coordinate studies and projects in mental health. The position is part-time (40% FTE), fixed-term through to 28 February 2027, with a base salary of $97,268-$104,348 plus 17% superannuation (HEW Level 6).

Key responsibilities

• Undertake advanced research activities using specialist technical knowledge and scientific methodologies.
• Coordinate small-scale research projects and studies, contribute to complex study design and help develop research and analytical protocols.
• Maintain accurate experimental records, support the preparation of reports and manuscripts and contribute to joint research outputs.
• Ensure compliance with approved ethics protocols, maintain high research housekeeping standards and help foster a proactive safety culture.

Required profile

• A relevant degree in Psychology with experience coordinating research, or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
• Demonstrated research knowledge and significant experience coordinating small-scale research projects.
• Experience in a psychology laboratory or specialist research facility, or the ability to acquire it quickly.
• Strong problem-solving, planning and prioritisation skills, and the ability to work independently and in teams.
• Clear written communication and the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders.
