Senior Renewables Engineer

About the role

GHD is expanding its Energy team in Western Australia to support clients' renewable energy initiatives, with a strong pipeline of projects. The role focuses on project delivery rather than wind modelling or energy yield assessment, and you will work on renewable energy projects across Australia, contributing to or leading project development and delivery, owner's engineer services and technical advice. Depending on your experience, you may lead projects or take on more responsibility for delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development and delivery of wind and other renewable energy projects
• Coordinate technical inputs and deliverables across multidisciplinary teams, managing schedules and budgets
• Contribute to owner's engineer services, project development and technical advice
• Prepare and review scopes of work, technical specifications and early-stage engineering design
• Support procurement, contractor engagement and construction-phase activities
• Manage project risks and interfaces, and build relationships with clients and stakeholders
• Collaborate with colleagues across Australia and the global network, and contribute to proposals
• For senior-level appointments: lead projects and support the development of other engineers

Required profile

• Ideally a degree in electrical or mechanical engineering; other disciplines or a master's in renewable energy with relevant project delivery experience are considered
• Relevant experience in engineering, project delivery or project management, ideally across wind, renewable energy, power generation or major infrastructure
• Experience supporting or delivering wind farm development, construction, owner's engineer services or related activities
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams, manage competing priorities and communicate clearly with clients, contractors and stakeholders
• Relevant experience is often gained over 5 to 15 years, though different career paths are recognised

Required skills

• Experience with WindPRO or similar renewable energy tools is useful but not essential
• Experience in solar, battery energy storage or other complementary energy technologies is valued
