Senior Project Manager

About the role

Vertical Scope Group’s Professional Services Division is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects for Defence and National Intelligence customers in Canberra. You will be responsible for end‑to‑end delivery, integrating finance, risk, schedule and stakeholder management.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a multi‑disciplined project team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Manage project finance, commercial contracts, technical delivery, risk, schedule and human resources.
• Provide strategic advice to senior management and stakeholders on whole‑life project considerations.
• Review and improve project management methodologies, integrating best practices.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, influencing senior client leadership.
• Monitor project performance against plans and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor junior staff and share expertise across the team.

Required profile

• Minimum NV2 (or TS/PV) security clearance.
• Based in Canberra and able to work on‑site.
• Proven experience in incident, financial and organisational change management.
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
