Senior Project Manager – Energy Trading (12‑month contract)

About the role

This is a 12‑month contract position based in Melbourne, supporting one of Australia’s largest energy trading businesses. You will own the end‑to‑end delivery of Deal and Risk Management (DRM) information systems projects, bridging trading operations and IT delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, track risk and resolve issues for DRM systems projects across the portfolio.
• Own and maintain the Jira backlog, produce regular status reports and keep delivery visibility high.
• Facilitate Agile ceremonies – sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives and backlog refinement – acting as Scrum Master.
• Prepare and lead Steering Committee meetings, presenting clear updates to senior business and technology leaders.

Required profile

• 5+ years of project management experience with formal methodology credentials (PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent).
• Strong experience in change management and stakeholder engagement across both business and technology teams.
• Ability to work in a fast‑moving, high‑stakes energy trading environment.
• Background in energy trading, utilities or banking is desirable but not mandatory.
