Senior Project Manager (eCommerce)

About the role

Harvey Norman, Australia's largest retailer of lifestyle products with nearly 300 stores worldwide, is looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join its growing Information Technology team. The role leads and manages projects that advance the eCommerce platform, reporting to the Projects Delivery Manager and working onsite at the corporate office in Homebush West. It sits within a significant programme of work focused on progressing online capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Act as strategic liaison between business, IT, technology work streams and external suppliers
• Provide resource and budget plans so projects finish on time and within budget
• Manage schedules, risks and issues using standard project management tools
• Prepare and lead monthly steering committee meetings with senior stakeholders, including C-level executives
• Manage communication across the business, run workshops with internal and external stakeholders, and create business cases for recommended solutions
• Manage multiple projects concurrently

Required profile

• Experienced Project Manager with extensive eCommerce domain experience
• Proven track record delivering key business and technology projects on time and within budget in medium to large retail organisations
• Ability to manage large, complex projects with multiple work streams and competing deadlines
• Experience in issue and risk management, formal status reporting and steering committee facilitation
• Knowledge of procurement processes such as RFP/RFQ and proven experience working with external vendors

Required skills

• Solid understanding of retail systems, including payment gateways, inventory and order management
• Project management lifecycles and product implementation methodologies (waterfall, agile, hybrid)
• Website development lifecycles, including analytics, performance and customer support
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, stakeholder influence, conflict resolution and negotiation
