Senior Project Manager – Cyber Security (12‑month contract, Brisbane)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead cyber security initiatives for a Queensland Government client on a 12‑month contract. The role is hybrid, based in Brisbane CBD, and reports to the Program Manager Cyber Security and the Project Management Capability Lead.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of cyber security projects within the Cyber Security Risk Management Program.
• Oversee design and implementation of security controls such as PKI, IAM, PAM, IGA and Zero Trust architectures.
• Coordinate external delivery partners and vendors, ensuring contractual and performance compliance.
• Handle financial management including cost estimation, budgeting, expense tracking and financial analysis.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies while maintaining project schedules.
• Engage stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to define scope, deliverables and governance.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering IT projects, primarily cyber security, in large organisations.
• Proven ability to use both predictive and agile methodologies.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and team‑building capabilities.
• Excellent risk, issue and dependency management skills.
• Demonstrated financial stewardship and attention to detail.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders.
