Senior Project Manager – Building Management Systems

About the role

Johnson Controls is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the delivery of Building Management System (BMS) and Integrated Building Management System (IBMS) projects across major commercial and mission‑critical sites in Melbourne. You will own the end‑to‑end project lifecycle, from design through commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and documentation for BMS/IBMS projects.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety to meet client and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure successful delivery milestones.
• Oversee system integration, FATs, SATs and building optimisation activities.
• Maintain project financials, forecasting, cost control and commercial reporting.

Required profile

• Trade qualification in Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical Services or an Engineering degree.
• Proven experience delivering BMS/BAS projects in commercial or mission‑critical environments.
• Strong understanding of HVAC plant optimisation and building controls architecture.
• Experience managing budgets, timelines and stakeholder expectations.

Required skills

• BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, OPC, MQTT communication protocols.
• Knowledge of BIM, AutoCAD and Visio for engineering documentation.
• Commissioning, FAT and SAT execution.
