Senior Product Designer

About the role

As a Senior Product Designer at REA Group, you will shape products that deliver real value to Australians seeking to finance property. You will work closely with product, engineering and cross‑functional stakeholders to define direction and create end‑to‑end experiences that meet customer needs and business goals.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with product, engineering and stakeholders to influence product direction and outcomes.
• Develop deep understanding of users, business opportunities and technical constraints to inform design decisions.
• Lead end‑to‑end design from discovery through delivery, selecting appropriate methods for complex problems.
• Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, using evidence to validate assumptions.
• Create high‑quality interaction and visual designs that follow the design system, principles and accessibility standards.
• Prototype, test and iterate solutions based on feedback, analytics and experimentation.
• Mentor and support Product Designers through coaching, feedback and collaborative practices.
• Lead design critiques and champion customer‑centred decision making.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading product design in a fast‑moving, ambiguous environment.
• Strong ability to translate user insights and business goals into compelling design solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with product and engineering teams.
• Passion for mentoring junior designers and fostering a design‑focused culture.

• Expertise in interaction and visual design aligned with a design system.
• Proficiency in user research methods (qualitative and quantitative).
• Ability to create accessible, high‑quality prototypes and mock‑ups.
